Lower Guk Revamped - July 2008 - Now level 70-80

Lower Guk has been revamped today - mobs are now in the level 70-80 range and randomly dropping loads of new gear and upgraded versions of old gear.

The revamp to Lower Guk will last one month and for that month, the mobs will drop plate and silk armour as well as a range of ALL / ALL items.

The armour is pretty sweet with decent stats:

• Required level 71
• Around 350 hp / mana per piece
• Decent base stats (120 AC on plate BP, 24 AC on rings)
• Heroic type stats (increase your stat caps)
• Decent level II focus effects (13% mana pres, 35% ID, Dodge II, Ferocity III, etc)
• Decent secondary stats (similar to elaborate gear)

Next month, Blackburrow will be revamped and will include drops for chain and leather classes.

I popped along today for a peek but the zone was packed and the mobs were yellow con to 71. They reportedly hit for around 1k. Right now on AB the new armour (Darkened) is priced quite high in the bazaar - rings start from 50k - BP starts from 140k.

Comparing the items to the level 75 drops from SoF zones (glossy, warped steel, etc) they seem slightly better, but perhaps not so much that the prices will justify them. Plate bracer has 3 more AC, 60 more HP and slightly better resists (same focus effect) for example. However the lower level requirement and rarity of the items might drive the prices higher.

The main items of benefit will be for slots that aren't covered by the class specific stuff from SoF - weapons, shoulder items, back items and so on all have the same level of stats. The weapons are actually pretty sweet - 175 dd on the procs and 350hp on 1hs can't go far wrong!
